According to Merriam-Webster website, statistics is "a branch of mathematics dealing with the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of masses of numerical data" Statistics sorround us and we can find statistical data in mathematics, geography, media and among them, sports. Statistical data are really useful in sports to determine possible results, to know players´ performance, how a team has evolved along the season or to give a specific prize to a player. As I am a big fan of NBA, I would like to expose some statistical data that maybe makes you feel the enthusiasm that I have towards this sport.
The Bill Russell´s Celtics in the 60s, the Showtime Lakers in the 80s or the Michael´s Jordan Bulls in the 90s are in the sanctuary of the best dynasties in the history of the NBA for their successes and their colorful game, two characteristics that make the teams that treasure them almost invincible. Moreover, in that situation, we can find the Golden State Warriors, unanimous favorites every season in the NBA. From a team point of view, we can find how the Boston Celtics host 17 NBA titles, while the Golten State Warriors have the record of games won in the regular season, which are 73 wins and only 9 defeats.

However, we can not think that these records can not be exceeded because there are currently some basketball players who can beat old records. Russell Westbrook is the main active player who has closer to exceed the 181 triple-doubles (to reach in three different sections double digits, that is, a minimum of ten) record of Oscar Robertson, since he only has to get 43 triple-doubles for surpass him. Moreover, Marc Gasol has the opportunity to become the maximum rebounder of his franchise, as he has to capture 125 rebounds to reach the record of Zach Randolph. As we can see, records from another era can be overcome in the next seasons and therefore find new statistical data.
